Frequently Asked Questions
What will your opening hours be?
We intend the cafe to be open 7 days a week from 8am-6pm with extended opening till 8pm on Fridays and Saturdays. The rooms upstairs may be rented out later in the evenings (9pm) to provide spaces for things such as NCT classes and yoga/pilates.
Will you use local suppliers?
Absolutely. It is our intention to become part of and support the local community. We look forward to finding all of the best talent in the area from coffee roasters to yoga teachers.
How will people access the pavilion?
We expect people to access us either through the Darwin Green development (we are to be located on the end of Beagle road) or through the cycle/pedestrian entrance on Huntingdon road. This throughway is owned and will be maintained by Barratt David Wilson Homes. We will be located on the corner of park so will provide takeaway drinks and ice creams for those enjoying the outside space in front of the building.
What will be the impact on the houses living close by? we’re worried about noise, smells, light, deliveries…
We are equally concerned by all of these factors and want to ensure we bring positive change to the area. Our architect will be working hard with a range of consultants including M&E, ecology and traffic to ensure our impact on the surrounding houses is minimised. Further detail on all the measures we will be taking will be included in our planning application submission.
Will you be serving alcohol?
It is our intention to apply for an alcohol licence. As stated above our opening hours will be limited to 6pm Sun-Thurs and 8pm on Friday and Saturday. We will be serving a limited range of alcohol within these hours.
When will you be opening?
We hope to open our doors 18months after we have be granted planning permission. We will be updating you along the way and look forward to welcoming you to Livies soon.
